I am from the global South, I co-manage the Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) and I am privileged to be located in the Netherlands. I am intentional about achieving all connections that I can brocker to benefit people and nature and I mean all forms- North-North, North South, South South. This week was for making North-South connections. Youth from the 7 VCA countries met and interacted with 6 Dutch NGOs, 2 government actors, Dutch Youth and staff of various departments of Wereld Natuur Fonds (WWF-NL). The Youth presented pitches of their NBS propositions to the stakeholders and they received advice on how to sharpen them in addition to the connections and potential partnerships they initiated. The advice will be used to advance a VCA Youth NBS strategy to be launched at COP29 and I share some of it below:1. Youth will strengthen their NbS propositions by making the societal problems distinct. 2. They should desist from fitting everything that is conservation into the NBS box. Some conservation propositions can attract their own attention. For example indigenous led protected areas make a compelling argument too.3. They needed to make climate change impact on social issues clearer 4. They should take the audience along the journey and use evidence to justify propositions. 5. They need to tailor message to each audience 6. They need to consider that less is more It was a great culmination of a few months preparatory work by the incredible Voices for Just Climate Action regional teams who include Luisa Arancibia Jacqueline Kimeu Inonge Sakala Nomayi Hatyoka Hayet Baccouche I extend my sincere appreciation to the Dutch stakeholders that showed up for the youth; Pieter Copper of MOFA, Sonja Bleeker of Partos, Margit van Wessel of , Allard Stapel and marthe jongmans of Wereld Natuur Fonds (WWF-NL); Esin Erdoğan of Simavi, Petra Hamers of Oxfam Novib, Joost van Montfort and Rosalien Jezeer Nadia Rinaldi of CARE International, evelien van den broek of IUCN NL and Eefje van Esch of Hivos; Jelle de Jong and Bart Geenen; Yza de Ridder Malou Parekh Merijn van Leeuwen Marcel Keurntjes; Nathan Spees I am also very grateful to my colleagues; Diana Francês, Marre de Visser, Bibian Happel and Gilia Kirpestein for pulling the plans off. Aluta Continua and please reach out to connect with us.

In Uganda, they say '' you are from where?' 😊 . Well done Barbara Nakangu and the team for keeping us connected, and the youth that participated.
